PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) Complete Thyroid Profile
PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) is a test both useful in diagnosis and follow-up of prostatic cancer. Recommended for males over 50 years of age, or over 40 years of age with a family history.

Recent studies indicate that a digital rectal exam (DRE), ultrasonography, and serum PSA measurements each are useful methods for diagnosing prostate cancer. Of these methods, PSA measurement is now considered the most accurate. This simple and affordable test detects levels of the PSA protein which is produced exclusively by prostate tissue and which is elevated in cases of prostate cancer and other prostate diseases. A PSA test is generally said to be in the normal range when it is reported to between 0 and 4 nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml.)

Do you feel fatigued, depressed or do you have a high cholesterol level? The American Medical Association recommends that all adults aged 35 and older undergo thyroid testing every 5 years. A simple thyroid profile including a TSH level may be a simple and affordable screening that can successfully detect your thyroid's optimal functioning condition. A thyroid problem is not always obvious as many symptoms of thyroid disease may be attributed to aging and be improperly diagnosed. The thyroid gland affects the body's metabolic rate, thus controlling such functions as body temperature, heart rate, muscle strength, mood, cholesterol, weight gain or loss, and fatigue. Early detection is the key. This profile includes T3, T4, T7, and TSH levels.
